Nassau Library System is a consortium of 54 member libraries that provides shared services to Nassau’s public libraries. Each public library in Nassau is independent, supported by local taxes, and governed by its own board of trustees.
How do I use my library?
- Find & visit your home library
- Get a digital access card! – it gives you access to eBooks and databases!
- If you live in an area that does not currently support local public library service, you are still eligible for a State Mandated Access Card.

Nassau libraries have a number of catalogs to help you search the collections of libraries across Long Island.
How do I check out digital materials?
eBooks and eAudiobooks can be taken out from the Nassau Digital Doorway! All you need is a library card.
What other services do libraries offer?
Each library has unique events and services – please check your library’s website for more information. Nassau residents that have difficulty reading standard print materials are eligible for free talking books and braille books through the New York Public Library’s Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library.
